Plath/Hughes

I got into it with a bunch of people on Threads
who were going after Ted Hughes
as if he were the one who turned on the gas for Sylvia
while their children were in the next room.

I know that people linked together
by love and trauma sometimes do bad things
to each other; their children are lucky
to survive. I'm glad their daughter survived

and went on to write many books. I will
continue to be inspired by Frieda
and her parents—housing their books

on my shelves—while those incited
by my Threads might write books attacking Ted.
It's not like it hasn't been done already
