Notes on the Landmark for Peace Memorial after reporting on the MLK Park reopening (Mirror Indy)

Fifty-eight years ago, Robert Kennedy stood here and announced the death of Martin Luther King Jr.

At the park’s center the two figures rise from walls of Cor-Ten steel, reaching toward one another across empty space.

Cutouts in the steel trace their absence.

The dream is not yet realized.  

The void remains.
